Dr. Yiannis Xirouhakis

UNI SYSTEMS BULGARIA is a member of Info-Quest Group and the local subsidiary of UNI SYSTEMS, one of the five biggest IT system integrators in South-Eastern Europe. Based in Sofia, I am responsible for the operations and the development of the subsidiary company.

Info-Quest Group is a major Greek group of companies operating mainly in the areas of IT, Telecommunications and Energy. Info-Quest (mother company) is the biggest IT company in Greece and one of the leading IT companies in South-Eastern Europe. Based in Sofia, I was responsible for the development of the subsidiary company, mainly in the areas of business development, sales and project implementation.

EUROPEAN DYNAMICS is a leading software and ICT services provider with central offices in Brussels and Athens and operations in several countries in EMEA. Based in Sofia, I managed international teams delivering IT EC-funded projects (of several M EUR value) for the governments of Bulgaria and Romania. In parallel, I was responsible for the operations of the company in the Balkan area.

IBM is the world's leading information technology and consulting services company. Based in Athens, I managed 14 major projects of the private and the public sector in the areas of Systems Integration and IT Infrastructure for important Greek and international customers of IBM. I was responsible for projects of more than 10M EUR value with demanding profit margins; project involving specialists from various disciplines, products and platforms; project teams of more than 100 team members.

eXis IT is a Greek company offering consulting services, systems integration and implementation in the area of ICT. Based in Athens, I managed 15 projects of the private and the public sector in the areas of Software Development and e-commerce Solutions. I specialized in project management, consulting, systems integration, pre-sales and business development activities for major Greek companies.

ICCS is a non-profit academic research body carrying research and development activities in the fields of telecommunications and computer systems. ICCS is associated with NTUA and is being supervised by the Greek Ministry of Education. I participated in 12 Greek and European R&D projects in the areas of Image and Video Processing, Computer Vision, Telecommunications and Information Systems. I specialized in scientific & commercial research and system design, implementation and evaluation.

Ph.D. Researcher. I worked mainly in the areas of Computer Vision and Video Understanding. I authored more than 30 publications in leading international journals, conferences’ proceedings and books and participated in more than 15 scientific workshops and conferences in Europe and the United States.

Diploma degree: 9.04/10 (Excellent) Senior thesis degree: 10/10 (Excellent) I ranked first in Greece and entered the NTUA with honours. I graduated with honours.
