Zaq Baker

My work with ORC International consists of recruiting a variety of specialists for consulting engagements. I also bring experts into ORC Experts, the longest-standing consultants'​ network in the world.

I provided detailed input on editing book material for The Unexpected Caregiver; conducted transcriptions for use as book content and marketing collateral; and supported in the Twin Cities Public Television component of the project.

I initiated and directed event planning for performances by a variety of artists; curated station schedule; wrote and published reviews; conducted on-air artist interviews; and managed a variety of other station responsibilities.

I relayed team goals and initiatives between admissions administration and student workers. I served as a leader among student workers while simultaneously engaging in the same work as the remainder of the team.

I assisted First-Year Writing as well as Race and Ethnic Studies classes by providing: in-depth editing on a variety of student writing assignments, as well as their final portfolios; written and verbal commentary on student essays; leadership via orchestration of team-oriented reading, writing and editing sessions; and help with research and essay structure. I consistently adapted to curriculum and course changes.

I directed the most extensive and inclusive music genre at St. Olaf's KSTO radio organization; oversaw 38 DJ’s of varying age and level of experience; managed electronic and physical music and promotional mail from a number of labels; and provided input on station upkeep, funding, publicity and operation.

I worked on a student team within St. Olaf’s Admissions department reaching out to high school juniors and seniors. I continually served as an ambassador of St. Olaf to a diverse swath of students with widely divergent knowledge of and investment in the college.

I taught myself Wordpress and utilized it to design and maintain a promotional website for Mark Allister’s most recent publication, Chasing the Light. I reached out to 33 newspapers, reviewers, radio station directors, bloggers and other writers in order to market the then-soon-to-be-published book.

I volunteered as an intake worker at SMRLS, where I received and processed client phone calls as well as screened clients for case type and eligibility.

I conducted Biology and Environmental Studies summer research, funded by CURI (Collaborative Undergraduate Research and Inquiry) and St. Olaf College. Our research included one reforestation project, one agriculture project and one local bluebird population data collection effort.

I provided detailed input on content and style for every chapter of Chasing the Light as each was added to the manuscript.
