Anja Fehlau

Lecturer for Design Thinking and Interaction Design in the Media and Design Management (M.A.) and the Media Management (B.A.) program.

In my role at the SAP’s Global Design Team I’m responsible for leading design activities, including problem space exploration, discovery of needs and insights, and design of solutions by idea generation, prototype creation and evaluation, working closely with customers and end-users. I drove projects in the field of multi-sensory business applications, creative space, and design enablement for non-designers.

Fellowship in the central team for Business Model Innovation I was trained as Business Model Innovation Coach and conducted workshops and trainings.

I am an experienced Design Thinking Coach, and have facilitated numerous workshops with customers, co-workers, and executives. I coached project teams, conducted trainings and held lectures at HPI School of Design Thinking and Hochschule RheinMain. In my role as User Experience Designer, I drove design activities for innovation projects, incl. problem space exploration, discovery of needs and insights, idea generation, prototyping and evaluation, working closely with customers on future user experiences.

During my work in IT research I explored themes that now massively enter the business world: Virtual Assistants, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Interactive Storytelling. In this context, I designed user experiences for educational narrative spaces. I also acted as organizational chair of the international TIDSE 2004 conference.

I continuously supported research projects with my design skills during the course of my studies. My thesis was about “Creative teamwork in virtual environments”.

International internship at the Global Work Environments Department. I created the interaction design concept and web design for a collaboration platform for an US-based customer.
