• Providing of advisory to H. E. the Minister of Electricity in technical and economic issues. • Following up ongoing projects to support the power system. • Participation in committees to diagnose the actual situation of the sector, to prepare the post crises-vision, and to draft of the national energy policy. • Support the electricity sector with skills and experiences related to software applications for planning and operation of the power systems, legislative drafting, and capacity building.

•Establishing the directorate ESRAPI to be a core for a regulatory body. •Working in groups to prepare the rules and instructions related to the electricity law (grid code, PPA, issuing of licenses and permissions, …). •Heading committees to enforce the Syrian power system in electricity generation and distribution including the partnership with the private sector. •Assisted by international consultants (IFC, IPA), continuing the main preparations related to the selected projects.

• Establishing the directorate of Public Private Partnership (PPP). • Sharing in the preparation of the World Bank Document “Electricity Sector Strategy Note of Syria”. • Sharing in the committees for reviewing of the electricity law, which enable the private sector to participate in the electricity generation and distribution. • Sharing in committees to draft the Syria’s PPP law. • Starting the preparation to involve the private sector participating in developing the electricity generation.

• Working as Team leader for performing technical studies (using PSS/E) and economic studies (using WASP). • Searching for systematic arrangements to improve the load factor in Syrian Power System on Consumers’ side and Capacity Side. • Sharing (as counterpart) with SwedPower to update a Master Plan Study. • Sharing in studies to develop the electrical interconnection with neighboring countries (EIJLLST) and study the Mediterranean Ring (MEDRING).

• Performing technical and economic studies to improve the Power System operation. • Sharing (as counterpart) with EdF experts to perform a Master Plan Study regarding an expansion of Generation and Transmission of the Electrical system. • Sharing (as counterpart) with EdF experts to perform the studies related to the operation of first phase of the electrical interconnection of the Syrian Grid with neighboring countries (EIJLLST).

• Searching for arrangements to reduce the shortage in electrical Power System using some of Load Management applications. • Participation in technical committees for preparing the tender books or evaluating the bids regarding purchasing of different equipment (Power Plants, Substations) and different specific Soft wares (related to planning or operation of the power systems).
