Unified subscriber tracking for Location Based Advertising • Built a single subscriber tracking management system to be used by already deployed and newly created services • Enhanced the processing time of the tracking module. Deep packet inspection (DPI) for users' toolbar • Users’ internet usage data is processed to tailor a toolbar based on their interests. Mobile Network Optimization • Supplied an automated module to optimize network cells' activity to avoid interference.

Created a semi-automated labeling tool “CellMates” for Malaria infected and uninfected cells.

• Provided a natural scene character recognition engine that is different from traditional approaches that are suited for documents (C++ and OpenCV). Analysis of the 2011 Egyptian Referendum • Data preparation & analysis of the referendum results for the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics CAPMAS (Java and WEKA were used).

• Provided a natural scene character recognition engine that is independent of text enhancement C++, OpenCV, and Matlab. • The internship contributed to the Master’s thesis project at Nile University (NU).

Evaluation framework for the OCR "OmniPage" • Comparing the OCR output against human labeled data to determine OCR's weaknesses using Java Creation of LOXtractor • LOXtractor‘s backend consisting of the OCR and a subsequent enhancement layer using Java • The frontend for LOXtractor showed document’s elements presented in a structured hierarchies that can be edited, annotated, shared, and exported to wikis (Apache Flex).
