Über mich
I am a behavioural science and UX researcher, with specialist knowledge in performance and educational psychology. Discovering what makes people think and behave they way they do, fascinates me. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, I work at the University of Hamburg, where I use mixed-methods behavioural and cognitive science to study psychological aspects of music learning and performance, as part of an international team. I employ user-centered research (such as usability tests), and UX heuristic principles to develop computer software for running perceptual experiments, and to design surveys. I love my work because it brings me opportunities to learn new skills, to work collaboratively, and to find meaning in data. I love to solve problems, such as finding appropriate methods to address a research problem, or honing my writing to better communicate a complex idea. As a researcher, I believe in the power of clearly presented data and facts to drive innovation and change the world.
