Dr. Andrew Murphy

I am an experienced and highly motivated leader with broad techno-commercial expertise in technology and innovation management. Sitting as part of the European Leadership Team based in Amsterdam, I am responsible for Innovation, R&D and Engineering across Europe. My leadership span encompasses responsibility for both a team of innovation engineers at a dedicated Innovation Centre and for country R&D Directors across Europe.

Commanded broad-ranging responsibility for delivery of a diverse set of projects. Robust expertise in leading change; vision and mission setting; and budget management in a strong values-driven organisation. Highlights include: • Initiation of partnering discussions leading to first Shell hydrogen-refuelling sites in UK and co-funding of US sites. • Technical advisory to Shell Technology Ventures leading to equity stakes in third parties.

During my time as European coordinator, I delivered innovation strategy & management as well as direct lead generation, programme delivery and coaching. Successes include implementation of cost reduction and new technology developments in diverse areas including environmental remediation, anti-counterfeiting, biofuels development and a prominent collaboration with NASA in off-shore decommissioning.
