Zachary Gallant

Author of a rhyming children’s book gently explaining the phenomenon of war without continuing the cycle of fear and hate. VICE called it ”Dr. Seuss with more ethnic violence and Kalashnikovs”. It has been used in empathy-raising and conflict-mitigation workshops in Germany & the UK, including at the London School of Economics. Translations have been completed in German, Arabic, Kiswahili, Hebrew, Serbian, with French under way, and we are searching for publishing in these markets.

A World of Neighbors is the EU-wide refugee & migrant accompaniment strategy initiated by Church of Sweden. Through a facilitated, member-led network of practitioners of all backgrounds, we connect communities to provide mutual aid across Europe. Building a global framework across religious & ethnic traditions to coordinate a collective response to the hundreds of millions of new refugees we'll be seeing in the coming years due to climate change & conflict. In Europe, this work was undertaken in cooperation & consultation with the "A World Of Neighbors" refugee strategy of the Church of Sweden, linking practitioners of all faiths, on whose Steering Committee I served during this time.

The project „Selbstbewusst auf dem Weg zum Ausbildungsplatz“ helps young migrants, especially refugees & asylum seekers, orient themselves along the confusing path to the German job market. In the face of changing funding guidelines and social needs, I have been involved in expanding this program to other communities, including Roma & Sinti, and bringing in new perspectives, such as "Interreligiöse Bildung in Pflegeberufe", and in finding new partners to help us realize these programs.

Projektmanagement, Verfassen des Business Plans, Fundraising- und Medienkampagne für ein großangelegtes, interkulturelles und interreligiöses Flüchtlingsintegrationsprojekt in Rheinland-Pfalz. Die Integrationswerkstatt zählte zu den Gewinnern des Deutschen Integrationspreises 2019 und stößt auch international auf breites Interesse als gelungenes Modell eines konstruktiven Miteinander in einer Kleinstadt.
