The focus lies on the understanding of sedimentary processes and sedimentary variations in the geological past in response to changes in climate, sea level, coastal developments and sediment distributions. Research areas include the continental shelf of the North Sea and Baltic Sea, dealing with problems related to dynamics of drift sediments, processes of coastal development, subsurface mapping and interpretation of 2D seismic models and climate signals in sediment records.

Monitoring of habitat development within the Wadden Sea of Schleswig-Holstein. Data management and interpretation of side-scan sonar datasets. Insight of project work with the goal to build up a national database of existing data basis.

I used to work in group projects related to hydroacoustic problems in the area of the Irish Sea and the Menai Strait. Data collection was done with multibeam echosounder, side-scan sonar and sub-bottom profiler. Data analysis and management was accomplished ArcGIS and Kingdom Suite.
