Über mich

I am the Scientific Director of Absea Biotechnology and GM of Absea's innovation center in Berlin. I am passionate about developing tools that can generate a deeper understanding of fundamental biological processes and increase the clinical value of protein science. Towards this goal, I work with with academic and industry researchers, finding ways to support their science with Absea's resources. I studied biochemistry at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, with a Master thesis focused cross-linking mass spectrometry. In my PhD work at Utrecht University, I developed integrative mass spectrometry approaches to study protein structures, modifications and interactions.  Afterwards, I joined Nature Communications as an editor handling submissions in biomolecular mass spectrometry, structural biology, and protein biochemistry. Before joining Absea, I was a Nature Communications team manager, overseeing the journal’s structural biology, biochemistry and biophysics content.
