  • Bis heute 2 Jahre und 10 Monate, seit Sep. 2021

    Senior Scientist and Lecturer

    ETH Zurich

  • 4 Jahre und 9 Monate, Nov. 2016 - Juli 2021

Lead Forschungs- und Entwicklungsingenieur, Additive Fertigung

    GE Research

I'm developing control and mechanical systems for large-format (meter-scale) machines metal additive manufacturing. I have experience with designing multiple machines from the ground up, including mechanical structure and enclosure design, gas flow and filtration management, powder dispensing and management, actuator selection and control, and laser-scanner coordination and control. I enjoy working in team environments and completing projects ahead of schedule and ahead of customer expectations.

  • 5 Jahre und 5 Monate, Juni 2011 - Okt. 2016

    PhD Researcher

    ETH Zürich

I developed a robotic exoskeleton to study the biomechanics of the human knee during gait. This involved the design and real-time control of an electromechanical system that integrates with the human body. This work was done at the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab (RELab) under the supervision of Prof. Roger Gassert.

  • 1 Jahr und 5 Monate, Jan. 2010 - Mai 2011

    Systems Engineer II

    Raytheon

Performed software integration and regression testing for the AN/TPY-2 missle defense radar. Generation of physics-based 6-DoF missile trajectories for radar siting and simulation. Training received: Raytheon Six-Sigma, Principles of Systems Engineering, Intro to Radar, Radar Detection Theory, Advanced Radar

  • 3 Jahre und 5 Monate, Aug. 2006 - Dez. 2009

    Teaching Assistant

    Clarkson University

Instructed for the ME/AE 201, 301, 401 Mechanical Design and Measurements Lab sequence, taught measurement theory, selection and application of sensors and transducers, data processing and interpretation, and concise technical writing. Instructed pre-calculus level math, worked to develop students' confidence and problem solving skills.

  • 2 Jahre und 3 Monate, Juni 2005 - Aug. 2007

    Voyageur Trek Leader

    Sabattis Adventure Camp

I led week-long canoe treks for a Boy Scout camp in the Adirondack wilderness, encouraging leadership development, team building, and self-reliance. Responsible for health and safety of the crew while navigating pristine mountain lakes and rivers.

  • 6 Monate, Jan. 2007 - Juni 2007

    Internship

    General Electric

Created and implemented a process improvement strategy for the design of steam turbines for power generation, which mapped the flow of design information between the turbine component design groups through personal interviews and identified pinch-points within the design process that result in design errors and delays.

  • 3 Monate, Juni 2004 - Aug. 2004

    Internship

    Trudeau Institute

Investigated the role of B-cells in priming T-cells for an immune response in transgenic mice.
