Dr. Marco Lohse works as a Senior Program Manager at Google, where he enables research breakthroughs for the benefit of billions of users. Marco started his career working as software developer, researcher and project manager for the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the GVU Center at Georgia Tech, the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics and Saarland University. Based on the results of his PhD thesis, Marco co-founded a start-up and was managing director until its acquisition by the multi-billion tech company Rohde & Schwarz, where he built up a new business unit for research & development and technical sales. He holds a MSc and PhD in Computer Science from Saarland University. The ACM awarded his work on Open Source multimedia and streaming software.
