Building upon the experience I gathered the last decade on the area of front-end development of web, mobile and hybrid apps combined with back-end development and working with designers, concept artists and UX research I consult and implement on all topics centered on mobile and the web.

I co-founded Om7Sense, the next-generation energy monitoring and management solution for data centers.

For Cliqz I worked on innovative mobile apps centered on search and messaging.

Technical project lead on real-time web and mobile applications. Strong focus on native UI and great UX for mobile. Integrated JS-based charting solution into Android app "Guidants Mobile" with embedded v8 and own OpenGL-based canvas implementation. Real-time derivative search through 1m+ derivatives with Lucene. Tech lead on "Patternscout", chart pattern recognition software that was licensed to major european banks.

As a freelance technical author I write articles for the publications "FreeX - Unix magazine" and "Linux magazine". Topics ranged from network security to digital photography. A list can be found under http://kevin-read.com/publications/

Created the mobile app "Godmode Anywhere", which was featured on the Play Store front page. Planned and developed in-house CMS and blog system. Real-time error reporting for in-house mobile apps.

After starting work for the University spin-off wizAI, I joined the working group "Artificial Intelligence" at the University as a student researcher. Here I did research for the intelligent, location-aware and personalized information agent IASON, and worked on the European research project SpatialMetro. The research work led into the development of an on-campus wireless information system, which I implemented and supervised.

In my spare time I develop a web-based online game called Selador in a team of three. Selador is now out of beta and enjoys a nice following.

wizAI is a spin-off of the working group "Artificial Intelligence" of the University of Koblenz. Here I worked on their semantic web-based news clipping agent "wizScreen", where I did software and database development. Technologies used included Lucene and Java EE.

Public Perception does market research in the automobile and medical areas. I gave and evaluated interviews, researched products and wrote and gave presentations,

I supervised the development and marketing of the mConsole product, a mobile Cisco router console. Apart from that I created a network of distributors and organized and held trade fair stands.

Backbone and interconnect router setup and maintenance. Database, web and mail server maintenance. Second-Level technical support.
