Über mich
As a research scientist at the Institute of Engineering Mechanics (ITM) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) I work in the field of microstructure generation and micromechanical modeling of sheet molding compound composites. My research project is part of the International Research Training Group "Integrated engineering of continuous-discontinuous long fiber reinforced polymer structures" (CoDiCoFRP). In collaboration with German and Canadian researchers in the fields of Design, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Modeling and Simulation, we develop holistic physical and virtual process chains in order to establish co-molding processes of continuous-discontinuous fiber reinforced polymers that allow such composites to be used within load-bearing structural components. Scientific Startup funding provides the opportunity to further evaluate the established process chains in terms of process-induced uncertainties in sheet molding compound composites.
