Dr. Jaume Alonso

My passion is to understand change, to analyse how things evolve in time and make predictions about the future. I do this by solving complex mathematical problems in dynamical systems and modeling, where I combine abstract theoretical results with computational tools to achieve concrete results. At the moment I am a postdoctoral researcher in mathematics at the Technische Universität Berlin, where I study the discretisation of integrable systems. I am an independent and quick learner, with facility for foreign languages. As a researcher, I work together with my colleagues on long-term projects, I regularly present my work at international conferences and workshops and also network with fellow researchers. As a teaching assistant, I am also responsible for the exercise sessions of several courses at the university, I manage small teams of teaching tutors, teach some groups myself, prepare materials and supervise exams.
