I'm taking part in some kind of symbiosis between an academic study and an apprenticeship ("Duales Studium" in German). So I'm working 3 months at the company, followed by 3 months of classes at the DHBW Karlsruhe ("State University of Cooperative Education"), followed by 3 months of work again and so on. Fields included Business Intelligence Operations, Business Systems and now IT Security

I held different positions within LocLabs, while the the most recent one was "Engineering Manager". This included localization of geodata for Apple and taking part in the localization of Zynga games. For Zynga, I provided 1st level tools support, hosted training sessions for localization tools & our i18n framework, evaluated new tools, reviewed source files for localizability / i18n bugs, fixed linguistic bugs, did some project management, etc.

I was a voluntary Community Helper (been part of the official Volunteer program of Linden Lab) since January 2008. Besides live help, I wrote and organized documentation material on the public Second Life Wiki with more than 15,000 edits. Furthermore, I was also taking part in the community translation project, providing translations of documentation and software. Within this project, I gave advise in i18n and L10n questions and provided a documentation scheme to keep track of already translated pages.

I worked for Linden Research Inc. (a.k.a. Linden Lab - the creators of Second Life) as a contractor via CXC Germany and COMSYS. As part of the "Localization Team", I documented, organized and published translations of documentation materials and was the consultant for all MediaWiki-related questions.

I worked as a contractor for Linden Lab (Linden Research Inc. – the creators of Second Life) via CXC Germany and COMSYS for software testing. My duties were to report bugs, inform about regression and give feedback about usability.
