18 Jahre und 4 Monate, Apr. 1996 - Juli 2014
Wireless Analog Hardware Senior Design Engineer
Wireless Division, Alcatel-Lucent Deutschland AG, Nürnberg
Design, development and test of analog high frequency hardware modules and printed circuit packs for wireless infrastructure radio base stations (LTE, UMTS, CDMA, GSM) from 700 to 2600 MHz. Comprises small signal transmit / receive chains, synthesizers, high-speed analog-to-digital / digital-to-analog conversion. Using LabVIEW to write hardware control and data analysis programs for verification tests. Working with measurement equipment like spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes.
2010 - 2014
LTE Wireless Hardware Development
Alcatel-Lucent
Test automation with Python and LabVIEW for verifying FPGA-based digital signal processing chains in a 900 MHz multi-carrier transceiver. Redesign of an LTE 2600 MHz radio for time-division duplex operation. Wrote radio control panel, capture spectrum analyzer and error vector magnitude test in LabVIEW. Adaption of a Radio on Chip based Remote Radio Head to a new frequency band. Team lead for concept studies and prototype preparation of an LTE Complementary Ground Component for Mobile Satellite Services.
2006 - 2010
CPRI Multi-Sector Radio Development
Alcatel-Lucent
Investigated sampling receiver frequency concept and design for a 700 MHz Multi-Carrier Radio. Contributed to filter specifications. Automated synthesizer module testing. Lead engineer for CPRI Multi-Sector Radio transceiver development. Proposed mechanical design and module partitioning, developed transmit chains and feedback receivers, did schematic entry, provided layout support, conducted reviews. Performed verification tests on prototypes and supported factory assembly test locally in Shanghai, China.
2001 - 2006
UMTS Base Station Current Engineering & Research
Lucent Technologies
Current Engineering (yield optimization, cost reduction, failure mode analysis) for UMTS transceivers. Designed UMTS terminal re-banding converters. Characterized RF switching performance of micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS). Presented talk at European Microwave Week 2003 conference workshop on future reconfigurable multiband/multistandard base stations. Design study for a compact remote radio head. Developed innovative mixer and D/A converter circuits for government-funded mobility research project.
1996 - 2001
GSM Macro Base Station Development
Lucent Technologies
Designed, simulated, developed, verified and optimized small-signal transmit blocks comprising I/Q baseband modulator for GMSK and 8-PSK, active IF quadrature modulator, IF amplifier with SAW filter, 300 MHz fixed-frequency synthesizer. Assisted in specifying and prototyping antenna coupling filters. Provided RF component expertise to wireless infrastructure commodity team. Established strong interaction with design engineers in UK and Ireland. Coached two students during internships and graduate works.
