Responsible for ensuring US GAAP revenue recognition compliance in 40+ countries (14 market units) in the EMEA region, and coordination of activities performed by Revenue Recognition Specialists in each market unit.

Responsible for the management of Cartesis’ Sales Administration processes, and implementation of US GAAP revenue recognition rules as well as policies, processes, and systems following purchase of company by private equity investors who required reporting under US GAAP.

Responsible for the management of the Finance and Administration activities of fusionOne Europe, the European subsidiary of an American company specialising in wireless data synchronisation. I reported to the European VP, and was a member of the senior management team making strategic and day-to-day decisions. Hired as part of the original European team, I put in place from scratch the finance and administration infrastructure (employment contracts, budgets, accounting structure, etc.).

Hired at the beginning of Netscape’s wild ride of growth and evolution, I was responsible for writing Netscape’s revenue recognition policy and ensuring the company’s compliance with US GAAP revenue recognition rules (sales contracts, pricing models, business models, etc.). An often interesting and challenging experience as Netscape pioneered certain web services that the accounting industry previously had not dealt with.

Provided assistance to the US National Science Foundation and scientific units from other nations in McMurdo Station, Antarctica.
