Engineering Manager (form 4 position) for part 145 line/ base maintenance facility.

Employed as a Line/ base maintenance and AOG engineer. Duties also include practical training instructor as part of aircraft type training courses (train the trainer qaulification). Approvals on, Bombardier Challenger 601, 604/5, Global Express and Hawker BAe 125-750, 800XP, 850XP and 900XP business aircraft. Tyre bay and battery bay approvals.

Employed as an EASA part 66 B1 licensed engineer on Bombardier Challenger 604/5 (CL600-2B16), Global Express/ Vision (BD700) and Hawker 750XP, 800XP, 850XP and 900XP business aircraft. Carry out line/ base maintenance and provide worldwide AOG support to our customer’s aircraft as on call duty engineer.

Base and line maintenance and AOG support on all Bombardier business aircraft. B1 type rating on the Bombardier Challenger 300 (BD100), Bombardier Challenger 604/605 (CL600-2B16) and Bombardier Global Express Aircraft ( BD700). Duties include, carrying out base and line maintenance, inspections and defect rectifications, data inputs and the preparation of maintenance documentation and reports using SAP, interacting with customers, leading maintenance teams as project responsible.

Contracted to author and edit the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) for the Airbus A318, 19, 20, 21, A330 and A340 aircraft using Interleaf (SGML), SAP, IVS and Simplified English to ATA specifications.

Contracted to carry out structural modifications on Bombardier Global Express aircraft. Work included frame replacements, strengthening modifications and systems installation, using engineering drawings and company procedures as part of the ASTOR (Sentinal) project.

Employed as an inspector/primary operator, with second party stamp privileges, on the single aisle (Airbus A318, 19, 20, 21) wing-equipping flow-line. Duties included inspection of the work carried out by the technicians on the leading edges, trailing edges, wing skins, wing structure, flying controls and integral fuel tanks, to ensure the correct manufacture, assembly, systems installation and sealing. Duties also included rectification of non-conformities.

Contracted by various agencies at locations in the UK, including Inflite Stansted and Marshall Aerospace. Carrying out routine base maintenance on Bae146/RJ, Airbus A320 and crew rest modifications on Boeing 777 aircraft.

Employed as a technical author, on the Nimrod MRA4 project, to write electronic maintenance publications to Def Stan 00-60, using AECMA 1000D Simplified English, Frame Maker, LSAR, TPIS and Product Manager.

Contracted by MPI Aviation, to carry out major and minor star maintenance, sheet metal repairs, modifications and mid-life update preparations on Tornado GR 1 aircraf

After being selected to join the Royal Air Force, I was employed at all levels of maintenance, at various stations and squadrons. I achieved the rank of corporal before leaving to pursue a career in civil aviation. My final posting was as the supervisor of a line maintenance and rectification team on a Tornado squadron, managing a team of mechanics and technicians.
