In this role, I had an opportunity to join one of the hosted development teams, where I was responsible for integrating 3rd-party systems into the Reward Marketplace host. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS • On the branded host: Worked as a member of a cross-functional agile development team to build and integrate web services into the loyalty host using Java. • On the private-label host: Provided promotion engine and database support using Java and DB2.

My first role in the organization was as the lead developer for the company’s loyalty-based point-of-sale (POS) and fuel control product line. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS • Developed interfaces into point-of-sale systems and payment and loyalty hosts using Java, C#, and VB6. • Developed a distributed security architecture using AES256 encryption and DoD sanitization standards.

In this role, I was afforded the opportunity to affect positive change with the point-of-sale team, its processes, and its deliverables. As a result of a corporate restructuring that occurred during this time, I became involved in the creation of a new loyalty engine for private-label programs. Genesta is a boutique technology company that specializes in RFID and wireless solutions. My role in the organization was to develop custom RFID solutions--for both embedded and mobile devices--and integrate them into client environments. My partner and I started this firm in 1996 to provide technical and financial services to area businesses. As the firm matured, additional opportunities were identified in customer relationship management. We began slowly adding clients and, in 1998, the firm landed a regional account management contract with a big box retailer. This contract resulted in an explosive growth, increasing the company's annual revenue to just over $500K until we sold the business in 2001.

Intedata Systems provides software to municipalities for servicing water and gas customers. When I joined the team, the company was still in full-on startup mode. This meant an exciting opportunity to be involved in several aspects of the day-to-day including software development, traveling salesman, trade show presenter, on-site installer and customer trainer.
