Über mich
I am currently looking for a full-time job in Berlin as a furniture designer, design assistant, workshop assistant, furniture maker or production worker. I am available to start from late November although beginning of November is negotiable. I am a passionate product and furniture designer from New Zealand. I am honoured to be one of the final 30 for the inaugural Australian Design Review’s 30 Under 30 and was listed as a finalist for Australia’s Next Top Designer. I have also co-organised an exhibition and shown my work at Melbourne Design Week in May 2023 as part of Pop ‘Round Collective. I exhibited my work at Design Show Australia in June 2023 and my stool “Fish” is currently on the shortlist for the IDEA Awards in the “Object, Furniture and Lighting - Professional” category. My goal is to gain experience within small design studios and work towards becoming a successful furniture designer who creates interesting, sustainable, non-egocentric pieces.

Furniture Maker and Production Worker

Working within a small team I am responsible for quality checking, touch-ups (painting or sanding), finishing touches (e.g, adding rope details to armchairs), furniture making (using tools such as drills, rivet guns and glue guns) and packaging. Being a designer furniture company all work is completed to a very high standard. Occasionally I also help out in the powder coating and timber departments with prepping raw metals, cutting, sanding, oiling and finishing timber.

Assisting the lead designer with various design and product development tasks including product testing, creating fastenings, prototyping and modifying jigs for new products (using tools and machinery such as a jigsaw, grinder, drill, table saw and more), creating powder coating guides for factory staff using Adobe Illustrator, creating assembly guides and other documents using Adobe InDesign. Unfortunately, this position was dissolved until further notice due to a company re-structure.

Tasks included serving customers, opening and closing the store, website management (Wordpress), Facebook management, website content and tickets, writing invoices and quotes, establishing and maintaining an Instagram account, training new staff, designing new business cards, organising delivery for customers, ordering items for the store, creating sales, magazine advertisements and more.
