Andrzej Blachowicz

Climate Strategies is an international organisation that convenes networks of leading academic experts around specific climate change policy challenges. I manage daily CS operation including relationship with CS 45 research members, fundraising and dissemination of research results. I have successfully led the organisation through difficult times in 2012 and built up a solid project funding pipeline.

I was one of the leading experts in the country in the negotiations of the EU Climate and Energy Package. As part of this role I was developing numerous position papers, strategy briefs and expert analyses that were later used by our country’s leaders (including ministers of environment, deputy minister of foreign affairs and deputy minister of economy).

I built a climate change negotiation team comprising approximately 40 representatives from several ministries and government agencies. The team was responsible for chairing 15 working groups under the UNFCCC negotiations during the Polish EU Presidency. I also guided the execution of the Polish Presidency in the EU Council in the climate field. My responsibilities included coordination of the ministry’s units and sections as well as external stakeholders, quality checking tasks, and project consultation.

In pursuit of CCAP expanding its local reach, I launched the new branch in Brussels, Belgium. My duty was to capture business opportunities through fundraising and partnerships, perform liaison work on behalf of parent company, and build the presence of the organization through public relations campaigning.
