In this role, you will lead a production team within the Manufacturing unit ELSP in Montreal. Your responsibilities include driving efficient production results while meeting quality and planning targets. You’ll coordinate plant equipment, personnel, and processes, ensuring safe operations and adherence to company quality specifications. As a leader, you’ll oversee all production areas, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and foster positive communi-cation with supervisors and hourly employees. Promoting cross-training and compliance will be essential. This position reports to Manufacturing Unit Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results
  • Assess risks and safety hazards and implement plans to ensure people and equipment safety. Create, operate, and sustain a clean, safe working environment that meets world class standards.
  • Ensure all products and services are defect free, on time, and meet customer requirements.
  • Be the point of contact and provide guidance for work policies.
  • Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Help train, support and build a highly flexible and skilled workforce.
  • Develop programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.

Your background

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in industry
  • 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good level of leadership and communication
  • Experience working and leading in a unionized environment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing production demands
  • French and English fluent speaking due to cross functional partnerships
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
