Octapharma Biopharmaceuticals GmbH a subsidiary of the Octapharma group founded in 1997 is a successful and expanding biotech company in Heidelberg. Our core business is the development of recombinant proteins produced in human cell lines for therapeutic use in humans. We strive for effective treatments with an improved tolerability and convenience for our patients.
We are looking for a skilled and detailed-oriented Working Student (m/f/d) to support our R&D Formulation Development Team in the creation of a buffer library to be used for formulation screening of liquid and lyophilized therapeutic proteins. The successful applicant will also support the buffer preparation for the entire R&D department and act as a technical support in the execution of formulation experiments and studies.
This temporary position is available at the next possible date at our site in Heidelberg.

What will you be doing as Working Student?
- Prepare buffers, reagents, and solutions according to established protocols
- Maintain accurate records of buffer preparation, including batch numbers and concentrations in an electronic database
- Perform buffer analyses (pH and osmolality measurements)
- Adhere to safety and company policies
- Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain a clean and organized work area
Who are you?
- Non-completed B. Sc or M. Sc degree in biochemistry, biology, biophysics, pharmaceutics or equivalent
- Familiar with the operation of laboratory equipment such as pH meters, scales and pipettes
- Proactive, strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
